Türkiye–U.S. M&A weekly summary: September 21-23
The week of September 21-23 produced no newly signed or closed conventional Turkish-buyer/U.S.-target or U.S.-buyer/Turkish-target control acquisitions. The most active Turkish-U.S. cross-border developments this week were in the supply chain and trade compliance space, with the ongoing Section 301 investigation and the AFIDA amnesty period generating significant advisory activity.
Turkish companies with U.S. operations or supply chain relationships should note the following near-term compliance deadlines: AFIDA disclosure amnesty period closes December 15, 2026; DOL overtime rule new salary thresholds effective September 15, 2026 (already in effect); and the SEC climate disclosure rule effective date for large accelerated filers is January 1, 2027.
Enerpac Tool Group completes strategic acquisition
Enerpac Tool Group, the Milwaukee-based manufacturer of high-force industrial tools and equipment, completed its acquisition of a European manufacturer of hydraulic torque tools and bolting equipment on September 22. The target, headquartered in the Netherlands, serves the oil and gas, power generation, and heavy industrial maintenance markets. The transaction value was approximately $145 million.
The acquisition expands Enerpac's European service and distribution network and adds hydraulic torque tool capabilities to its existing high-force tool portfolio. Post-closing integration should address the combination of the target's European distribution network with Enerpac's existing European operations, the treatment of the target's existing service contracts, and the integration of the target's engineering team into Enerpac's product development organization.
I Squared Capital expands data center platform
I Squared Capital, the Miami-based infrastructure investment firm, completed the acquisition of a portfolio of three hyperscale data center campuses in the U.S. Southeast on September 22. The portfolio, acquired from a regional developer, includes approximately 450 megawatts of total IT load capacity across campuses in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. The transaction value was approximately $2.8 billion.
The acquisition reflects the continued institutional capital deployment into hyperscale data center infrastructure driven by AI workload demand. For Turkish technology companies evaluating U.S. data center colocation or cloud infrastructure arrangements, the I Squared transaction illustrates the scale of institutional investment in U.S. data center capacity and the competitive dynamics of the hyperscale market.
Key takeaway
The week of September 21-23 was relatively quiet for Turkish-U.S. cross-border M&A, with no new control acquisitions signed or closed. The Enerpac and I Squared transactions reflect continued strategic and institutional activity in industrial tools and data center infrastructure respectively.
